An Artist Named Cake
Monday, December 8th, 2008I promised a while back to focus my attention a little more to the ladies of the street art scene and I can safely say I have been slacking and I’ve probably disappointed all of you. Well I hope to renew a little faith in you guys by documenting a fantastic artist that is known simply as Cake.

Cake works mostly with posters and wheatpaste with brightly coloured drawings consisting mainly of women. The pieces are inspiring and have a certain ‘comic book character’ look towards them. Especially the piece above which could have come straight out of a graphic novel. The single lines on the coloured background really show that street art can be simple - money needn’t be spent on a 32 colour range of spray paints.
