Junky is an Australian artist taking a completely different idea of ‘environmentally friendly’. Junky creates crazy creatures from ‘the debris of society’. He then resurrects them onto telephone poles for passers by (and us) to appreciate.

Junky’s work is imaginative and some may see religious ideology in there - with the whole resurrection thing, but also the shape the creatures are placed in reminds me of the crucifixion of Jesus. This unique take on household trash breathes fresh air into the ’save the environment, recycle’ idea that we are constantly preached.

Unfortunately his work has just remained in Australia but he states ’soon global invasion will be complete’. Fingers crossed for work outside of his native Australia.
