Stickers and wheatpastes are Lints speciality. And as slaps and wheatpastes go hand in hand with characters too, Lints has no short supply of great critters. Below is a lovely little chappy rather Pokemon-esk.

We featured MeLoDiC* on Concrete Canvas a few months back but his recent explosion of work on flickr has made me sit up and take notice. MeLoDiC is an artist with no boundaries, he works on a variety of different mediums which is refreshing and it’s nice to see an artists experimenting with different styles and tools.

I urge you guys to take a second and explore this talent artists flickr.

This weeks FOTW winner has some very weird characters which look awesome on the street. Rallito X seems to reside in Spain and has work up in Barcelona. A lot of his work is quite crude and consists of a lot of fallic images (god knows what goes on in his head, then again, maybe he’s not a guy).

Anyway, he deserves flickr of the week, if you check his flickr out you’ll see what I mean. Rallito’s work seems to consist mainly of wheatpastes which looks great for his creepy, fallic monsters.

I’m really happy that I found this guy on flickr this week. He’s another freehand character artist - I love his characters. He goes by the name of Farm and is a member of CSK (The Countryside Krew). He has a very cool style which I find very refreshing.

I don’t know too much about this weeks Flickr of the Week winner and I haven’t been able to check much out of him on the t’internet so I’m guessing he could be new to the street art scene or likes to keep himself to himself (or herself). What I do know is that this guy does awesome throwups and illustrations. His flickr is inspiring and his street art immaculately clean. Who am I talking about? Doom Stalker.

MIMI the clown has won FOTW this week. He’s an awesome stencil artists with deep meaning behind his work and how he started. A lot of his stencil work has the big red nose we all associate with clowns, the common theme throughout his work. MIMI, another Parisian artist, is full of orginality and postive meaning.

Below is a quote from his flickr page, some great words that made be sit up and read closely.

1916: the world is in the middle of a world war; the one meant “to end all wars”.

2008, or 92 years later (i.e. after a second world war and a host of other diCTators and plenty of genocides) human beings are even deeper in the shit. CAPITALISM has completely enslaved them while also destroying the planet’s resources.

” (…) as of now we want to shit in varied colours to deck the zoological gardens of art ”

Tristan Tzara, manifesto of mr antipyrine, 1916

After studying knife-throwing and as a failed tap-dancer I started to take an interest in the world of show business, circus and masks. By going to the SUPERmaRket, by watching TV, by listening to politicians and slaving away every day for a few euros I realised that the show went much further than the stage that used to fascinate me. It was everywhere. Everywhere!! With intelligent giraffes, elephants and poodles!! Zebra tamers, acrobats but above all clowns. A countless number of ClowNs, everywhere! Wooooow, isn’t (real) life magic!

6 and a 1/2 years of internments as well as of exhibitionS in every clinic in France later AND still I go on PAINTING. Painting that is intentionally miLITAnt, offhand and concession free ($$$$).

(turn off your mobile and sit down; open your eyes wide, the show’s started already!)

Paris, France

Flickr of the week this week is not going to be a street artist at all. This is the first street art photographer that has won FOTW. We are pleased to have sheila_blige as FOTW for week 11.

sheila’s work is a brilliant document of work for the Manchester, UK street art scene. Looking not only at stencils, stickers and pastes, sheila also covers tiny tags to huge throwups.
