Fusion 2008

Friday, September 12th, 2008

We’ve seen a lot of charity events revolving around street art, we’ve seen a lot of charity events involving auctions (Cancer Sell anyone?) but I’m yet to see a street art charity auction involving eBay, which would seem a logical step.

Someone has finally stepped upto the mark and Fusion 2008 is the event to do it. Fusion 2008 is utilising the global expanse of eBay to raise money for Kids Under Cover, an Australian charity which tries to take homeless kids off the street and give them some shelter. Current artists donating work are Tesura, Indigo Child, Fray and Seldom.

Auctions for the work start on October 1st. Go to their website for more info on the artists, artwork and the charity.

Charity T-shirt Competition Update

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

We’ve have some big support surrounding the charity t-shirt competition we are hosting. Thanks to everyone for supporting the competition. The sign up stage to the competition end on September 1st so sign up in our forum here. We have decided on a charity to donate the money to aswell, Cancer Research.

Today we are moving the competition into stage 2 - the submission stage. All those that have signed up are now allowed to submit their entries. Please PM them to me (Nova) in the forum.

Below are some photoshop templates that will be useful to use (save target as):

We recommend downloading this template for you to construct your design. Then put your design onto this template to submit. If you feel you want to submit a bigger picture then remember it must have a higher resolution than 300dpi and be no bigger than 29cmx40cm.

If you don’t have photoshop and are happy using pen and paper, please draw the design on paper and scan it in then PM them to me.

If you know anyone who would be able to support us in any way by helping print the t-shirts or sponsoring us for example it would be appreciated if you could pass the news on.

Deadline for submissions is the 10th of September.

Charity T-Shirt Competition

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

Concrete Canvas has been fortunate to grab a lot of support since launching in July and we’d like to give a little more back to artists by giving them the opportunity to have their designs printed onto t-shirts to sell for charity. Inspired by the Cancer Sell event we want to produce high quality shirts, for charity. The charity we have chosen to support for this first batch of shirts is Cancer Research.

The event will run in three stages:
1. Artists sign up to the competition by September 1st in our forum.
2. The signed up artists submit their designs. More details to come about this.
3. The Concrete Canvas readers vote for their favourite design.

The highest voted designs will be produced for sale for charity.

If you’d like to help out and get your designs printed onto t-shirts please sign up here.

Cancer Sell Online Shop

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

Cancer Sell, as we have mentioned on the website before, was an art auction featuring work from many of the big name street artists who donated their work to raise money for Cancer Research and Florence Nightingale Hospice. Unfortunately, not all the artwork was sold but every cloud has its silver lining. The unsold artwork has been put online for anyone to buy, if you weren’t able to make it to the event this is a perfect opportunity for you to pick up some awesome work. And remember, 100% of the money goes to the mentioned charities.
