Flickr of the week #24!

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Ladies and gentlemen. I would like to inform you that Flickr of the Week has made a comeback!

Yes, that’s right! While it never officially left, I think I’ve been a little *cough* lax in posting them. Anyways, it has returned, and should be here for a while!

To mark it’s return, I have also added a thread in the forums where suggestions can be submitted (link is here), or you can submit in the normal way, via the contact form.

Anyways, this week’s Flickr of the week is .FAKE.!

Heres some pics from it:

Keep submitting!

C215 Piece ‘Stolen’

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Apparently, a C215 piece has been stolen off of an electrical box recently. From Logan Hicks Blog:

“Got an email from C215 this morning about a piece of artwork that was stolen. The piece was put out in the public arena, so it could be argued that it was free game, but the problem is that too many people try to exploit the public arena to make a dime.

C215 says “Hi if someone see this piece in a gallery, an auction or by someone, I would be really happy to be informed. If you want to help, you could also put this on your blogs, this would be fine to deprive these people to sell the piece. My request is simple : Please let art in the streets… ” ”

Now its obvious that once a piece is on the street, its fair game.  But is it okay for gallery owners and shit to start reaming pieces off of the street to sell?

Whats your take?

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

A little bird recently told me about this exhibition, by the Argentinian graffiti artist Maximiliano Ruiz.

It’s in Shoreditch, and is from 7pm till 10. Information I have says “Fenna Rhodes, along with his celebrated hip hop band True Ingredients (UK), will be in charge of the night’s beats.”

There will also be a book on sale.

Anyways, enough talk, here’s the flyer:

I recently got a message in my inbox about an artist, Griffin One. He does a lot of stuff, but the things I’m most interested in are the murals. I’ll let you see what you think.

I’ve messaged him, so hopefully he should turn up soon :P I didn’t want to post in case he turned up, but I’ve posted this because I don’t want the news to just run dry! I’ll keep on posting until he turns up. :)
