I don’t know too much about this weeks Flickr of the Week winner and I haven’t been able to check much out of him on the t’internet so I’m guessing he could be new to the street art scene or likes to keep himself to himself (or herself). What I do know is that this guy does awesome throwups and illustrations. His flickr is inspiring and his street art immaculately clean. Who am I talking about? Doom Stalker.
Movie time ladies and gentlemen, please take your seats as we whisk you away to a creepy disused asylum. The video looks at some great British artists, ones we’ve covered on the site before: Sinna, SNUB23 and Mishfit.
Tom Blackford of INKFETISH.co.uk recently got in touch and showed me some of his brilliant work. His street work is all freehand. Whilst on his website, I noticed this piece (below) which looks like it’s from Leake Street. If anyone could confirm this it would be appreciated:
The piece to me, above, looks really sinister with the ‘devil’ in the background. This is an excellent example of Tom’s fantastic character designs. The picture below looks inspired by Alice in Wonderland. I must say that the Cat is bloody scary.
I look forward to seeing more of Tom’s work in the future. To see more of his previous work and keep upto date with his blog check out INKFETISH.co.uk.

Banksy hasn’t finished his tour of America just yet. He’s hit New York hard with this brilliant new piece shown on his website.
I’m guessing these telephone boxes were already knocked down before Banksy got his hands on them but this is a brilliant example of using the environment effectively to create awesome street art. I love the face on the telephone being crushed.
Orticanoodles is an inspring stencil artist who consistently impressive with his clean style. Noodles, from Milano Italy, featured at the London Cans Event with a huge stencil at the entrance of the tunnel. He doesn’t confine himself to just stencils which shows how he is such a versitile artist. On the street he gets his wheatpastes up and you’ll often see his brilliant canvases off the street.
The picture above shows one of Ortica’s most famous pieces - ‘Jesus’. I personally think this piece is awesome and I love the typography Ortica has put together for his name. As for the Jesus stencil I feel it to be a breath of fresh air in the overused ‘anti-religion’ graffiti.
Below is a flick of one of Ortica’s pieces at the origianl Cans Festival Event. ‘Freedom’ was one of my favourite pieces there and deserves a special mention. The colours are great here and the complexity of the total design leaves you speechless when you see it in person.
To sum up, I think and I hope you now do to, Orticanoodles is incredible talent with a spray can. I can’t wait to see what he does next and wait with bated breath.
Free hand Hungarian street artist mrzero wins FOTW of the week and deservedly so. mrzero’s characters are fantastic on and off the street and a real inspiration to artists just starting out.
We brought your attention to the Fusion Street Art eBay Auction last month. It has now gone live, as of October 1st so jump onto their eBay store and bid bid bid. Remember all the money raised goes to the Australian charity Kids Under Cover.
The put together quite a moving video/advertisement too which I have put below.
At the time of writing everything is still nice and cheap so there’s an opportunity to grab some work by some really talented artists for a low price.
Typography is a very important tool for artists. We’ve seen how the swiss group CCC have created a storm and now have mass of followers through using different style work on their stickers.
Mr. Say Bubble, like CCC, is also primarily a sticker artist. His work is awesome and the mixture between his ‘bubble’ character and the typography creates an unlimited number of variations on what could be pretty limited. Mr. Say Bubble says:
I don’t like to brag, but I do have a bit part in almost every comic strip or book out there. I’m, uh, kind of a big deal. *flex* I might even make an appearance in a city near you.
So our Charity T-shirt competition is now in its final phase and the most important phase. This is the time everything comes together and we can finally start raising some money for Cancer Research.
The t-shirts are in today and look incredible. I am really pleased with the final results. Big thanks to Shirty Something for making this possible.
If you have already preordered a shirt it will be dispatched today and should be with you shortly along with a massive pack of stickers. If you haven’t bought a shirt yet, DO IT NOW!
